Way back in 2007 a small group of dive instructors on Koh Tao were searching for a better way to dive and to also add in more exciting activities for people who came to visit. After much bar banter, the concept of Goodtime Adventures was born based around: smaller diving groups on speedboats to maximize the customer’s time along with a wide range of adventures like rock climbing, cliff jumping, abseiling, watersports, and even a pub crawl.

After some years of building the business and smashing the reviews due to our personalized approach – expansion was on the cards with a beach café and bar and a hotel on Koh Tao being added. Not long later the hotel was converted to a hostel and for many years people could sleep in a dorm directly on the beach. This was so popular we added another beach hostel on the neighbouring Koh Phangan.

But alas COVID hit and changed the way tourism works in Thailand forever. Unfortunately, the Koh Phangan property has been closed down, but we are still here on Koh Tao!

The crew at Goodtime are extremely experienced at operating around Koh Tao and maximizing the fun and safety of all our customers. With over 15 years on the island – Goodtime is an industry leader SCUBA Schools International (SSI) full-service dive company, the main developer and leader with rock climbing, and your best option for private boat charters and adventure tours.

Tim (Aus) and Charly (UK) are the owners/managers. Both are Dive Instructors, Climbing Instructors, and speed boat captains, loving to get out on adventures whenever they can and show you their beautiful island home.

Myo is our Myanmar climbing instructor and is fluent in English and Thai and is a load of fun to be around. Bart (UK) is our equipment specialist and BSAC boat handling instructor along with being the resident fun guy. Jordan (Can) and Dawn (Isr) head up our expanding dive team.

Many people have come and gone over the years and we have had amazing dive and climbing instructors from all over the world in the past and will continue to do so again. Our climbing instructors have hailed from NZ, Portugal, Norway, the US, and the UK and have all helped with the climbing development on the island, while many of our dive instructors have come from every country you can think of!

We are your one stop shop for fun and adventure, and we specialize in small group experiences to help you get the absolute most out of your time with us. We are the only SCUBA diving centre that operates speed boat diving right off the beach, and we are the only Rock Climbing school in the Gulf of Thailand providing introductions, courses, beta and equipment hire. As well as single activity courses, we offer adventure combination tours with a range of our fun-filled activities all packed into half and full day itineraries. All of our equipment is maintained to the highest of standards, and our staff is comprised of a team of vastly experienced and skilled professionals.

If you are looking to go diving on Koh Tao, we run courses, refreshers and fun dives on a daily basis. Unlike most other Koh Tao diving centres we stagger our departure times and vary our dive site schedules so you get to see the broadest range of dive sites available and at the quietest times. We also run regular charters to Sail Rock – widely renowned as the best dive site in the Gulf of Thailand. All trips are run from one of our three purpose built dive boats directly from the beach right in front of our shop. Our vessels take 7 to 20 divers, ensuring more comfortable journeys and less time waiting for other groups to do their thing. Student numbers on both courses and fun dives are restricted to four per instructor, allowing you to get the most out of your time with us. Travelling in a bigger group? No problem, we simply allocate more staff to maintain the four to one ratio, so that you get the best service and learning experience.

Aside from Koh Tao diving, our boats are used for conducting water sports such as wakeboarding and water-skiing. We are an official BSAC Seamanship centre, and having two speedboats allows us the flexibility to teach boat handling courses as well. Don’t forget about our vast array of land based activities too. You’ll see parts of the island that remain hidden to most other travelers when you sign up for one of our rock climbing, abseiling, cliff jumping, or hiking tours. Again we keep student numbers to a minimum, allowing you to gain more experience and confidence under the supervision of our experienced and friendly staff.
