This workshop is the next step after your BSAC Boat Handling Course — ideal for students who want more hands-on time at the controls before progressing to the Diver Coxswain Assessment. You’ll spend at least five hours behind the helm, refining your handling, navigation, and safety techniques under real sea conditions.
During your workshop, you’ll:
Taught by BSAC-certified instructors aboard Goodtime’s custom-built speedboat, this workshop helps you reach the proficiency needed for professional-level boat handling and Coxswain certification.
Sharpen your seamanship and get real helm time in Koh Tao. This 1–2 day BSAC workshop builds experience and confidence before your Diver Coxswain Assessment.

Andrea was incredible with my wife and me!
Had a blast, after a long time not diving booked 3 days of morning diving trips. The staff was very welcoming and professional. A lot of thanks to Peter, Becky, Anna and Lukas.
Got taught by Shai, great experience and very competent teacher
If you are looking to dive and have a good time look no further. I recently earned my open water and advanced open water. It was truly an amazing experience! Upon arriving I was welcomed with a great sense of community and as the course went on I could truly see the quality of training you receive from the good time staff. The instructors at Goodtime are fantastic they breakdown the complexities of diving and give both textbook examples and techniques from their own diving experience. They never rush a student and never make you feel dumb for asking silly questions. These instructors have a great sense of leadership and a keen eye for safety. The front desk staff are super helpful and some of the nicest people you may ever meet. I cannot thank them enough for answering any and all questions. After deciding to purchase my own mask they helped me find the right fit and even had it delivered in about 20 minutes so I could have it for my next dive! A huge shoutout to my underwater family Max, Tim, Lydia, Ana, Lucas, Logan, Charlie, and Liv Also Beth for being an amazing underwater photographer!!!
I had a wonderful time with Goodtime, we went climbing there with Charlie (real routes! I advise it being a climber) and had our open water dive with Lydia, Livia and Andrea. I was so happy with the course that I went to the Advanced right after! Team is amazing, I feel lucky we had such good instructors, with good vibes and the well-applied pedagogy 🙏
Thank you Eduardo for the amazing dive. I can only recommend this diving school. Professional, very nice atmosphere and really welcoming staff
It’s a focused 1–2 day workshop that bridges the gap between the BSAC Boat Handling Course and the Diver Coxswain Assessment. You’ll gain extra helm time and refine your seamanship under instructor supervision.
The workshop includes a minimum of five hours behind the helm, plus time assisting as crew. You’ll handle real conditions, perform turns, approach moorings, and run diver operations aboard our speedboat.
While not mandatory, it’s highly recommended if you don’t have regular access to a RIB or small boat. It ensures you meet the five-hour helm experience required for the Coxswain Assessment.
Depending on group size, the course runs 1–2 days. It includes instruction, boat use, certification acknowledgment, and personalized feedback from your BSAC instructor.
Yes. You don’t need a diving certification to participate. The workshop focuses purely on seamanship, navigation, and boat-handling skills useful for divers, instructors, and ocean professionals alike.
