Become a confident skipper with Thailand’s only BSAC Boat Handling and Diver Coxswain training center. Whether you’re a diver, instructor, or ocean enthusiast, our internationally-recognized BSAC courses teach you to safely operate powerboats and dive vessels around the world. At Goodtime Adventures, we combine classroom learning with real hands-on training aboard our custom-built speedboat — giving you the skills, confidence, and control to take the helm in any conditions.
It’s a hands-on two-day course that teaches you how to safely operate small powerboats. You’ll learn launch, recovery, navigation, and diver pickup techniques under BSAC-certified instructors. Learn more about BSAC’s international training standards on the official BSAC website.
No. Anyone over 16 can enroll, whether or not you’re a diver. The course is suitable for dive professionals, boat crew, photographers, or anyone interested in seamanship.
Goodtime Adventures is the only center on Koh Tao offering official BSAC Boat Handling and Diver Coxswain training using a custom-built speedboat instead of converted fishing boats.
After completing the BSAC Boat Handling Course, you’ll be certified to helm powerboats up to 10 meters in coastal waters. The certification is MCA-approved and recognized internationally, equivalent to RYA Powerboat Level 1.
It’s the final step in BSAC’s boat training pathway, assessing your practical and theoretical skills in voyage planning, safety, and emergency procedures. Successful candidates earn the BSAC Diver Coxswain qualification (equivalent to RYA Level 2).
The combined package — Boat Handling, Post-Workshop, and Coxswain Assessment — takes around 4–5 days, depending on group size and conditions.
Courses are available year-round, weather permitting. Spaces are limited to three students per instructor, so advance booking is highly recommended.
I went for breakfast in this place. I absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere, staff were very friendly, reasonable prices and it’s a nice spot to swim in the sea as well :)
We had some wonderful dives with guides Daan and Mira from Goodtime Adventures. Relaxed diving from their own boat, followed by drinks and snacks at their lovely, cozy beach bar. The crew always brings such a great vibe. We truly enjoyed it. Best regards!
I did my open water cert with Goodtime and it was exactly what I was looking for. From the moment I arrived, all the instructors and divemasters were genuinely nice and friendly, and really the only way I can describe the experience is relaxed and welcoming. My instructor was Daan and he found a great balance between being strict where necessary and approachable. He's a fantastic teacher, both in the water and for the theory. He explains things in a way that's easy to follow and he can tell when something doesn't land. I can't recommend this dive school enough. If you're unsure, just come by and talk to them and you'll see what I mean. edit: I also did my advanced cert with Goodtime, that time with Ana as an instructor and I had an amazing time, I also did some fun dives with Lucas who's a fantastic diver a genuinely such a nice person above water too. All these people are amazing instructors and I'm so grateful for my time here. Hope I get a chance to come back and dive with you guys again :)
Great experience completing my Open Water course with this diving centre. A special thank you to instructor Ana, who was incredibly supportive and helped us stay calm and confident throughout the training. Highly recommended!
Incredible, trip of a lifetime. Hosted wonderfully by Bart and Becky, we took a private tour around Koh Tao on a speed boat. We hit the jackpot as the weather hadn't been good enough to get round the whole island for several months, but we had great conditions and did a full lap round. Best of all, there was almost NO other boat trips at the spots we visited. Every stop was idyllic, with gorgeous warm waters, clear for snorkelling. Better yet, we saw a huge turtle AND an adult shark at Shark Bay, which was a huge surprise and left us feeling very blessed. Bart and Becky's shared their expert knowledge and helped us name the fish we saw, told us interesting stories and facts and fed us some genuinely delicious snacks from their cafe. It was one of the most unforgettable trips of my life - don't hesitate to book. These guys know what they're doing ;)
My girlfriend has never raved about a buttuer chicken curry before.
