Private Snorkel Boat Charter

Most snorkel tours on Koh Tao run on large converted boats with 20 to 50 people in the water at the same site simultaneously. Goodtime’s trip is a different setup — a custom speedboat, your group only, and a crew that plans the route around conditions and timing rather than a fixed schedule shared with strangers.

The trip runs for four hours, either morning or afternoon. The crew recommends sites based on current conditions, time of day, and what you want to see. If you have specific requests — Koh Nang Yuan, Japanese Gardens, a particular bay — they’ll work them in. If you’re not sure where to go, they’ll make the call. Either way, the aim is to get your group in the water at the right sites at the right time, before the larger tour boats arrive.

All of Goodtime’s in-water guides are qualified dive professionals — Divemasters or SSI Instructors. That matters for safety, but it also means the person in the water with you can identify marine life, give a genuine briefing at each site, and handle any situation that comes up rather than just pointing in the direction of the reef.

You don’t need to be a confident swimmer. Life jackets and flotation devices are on board, and the crew is experienced at looking after less confident swimmers without making it a big deal. The more comfortable you are in the water, the more you’ll see — but the trip works for a wide range of abilities.

The charter departs from Goodtime’s beach club in Mae Haad and returns to the same spot four hours later. If anyone in your group wants to go further than snorkeling — a first dive for complete beginners, or a fun dive for certified divers — both can be added on and run from the boat, so the group stays together throughout.
