Scuba Review

Diving is a skill that fades without practice. If it’s been more than six months since your last dive — or longer — the Scuba Review gives you a structured way to shake off the rust before heading out on a fun dive or continuing with further training. It’s not a course and it doesn’t result in a new certification. It’s simply a focused session to make sure your skills are where they need to be before you get back in the water.

The session starts in shallow water, running through the core skills from your Open Water training — mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy control, and the emergency procedures you hopefully never need but should be able to execute without thinking. The pace is unhurried and the focus is entirely on comfort and confidence rather than assessment.

From there you move to an open water dive with an instructor, applying the refreshed skills in a real reef environment. Most divers find that the water itself does the rest of the work — once you’re back on the reef with a regulator in your mouth and fish swimming past, the muscle memory comes back quickly.

The Scuba Review is also a sensible step before starting any further training. If you’re planning to do your Advanced Open Water or a specialty course and it’s been a significant gap since your last dive, a review session first means you spend your course time building new skills rather than relearning old ones.
