Known for Calm, shallow waters
A sheltered, shallow bay on Koh Tao’s northern coast, Mango Bay offers calm, easy conditions ideal for beginner divers and snorkelers, with healthy coral and a relaxed pace that makes it a popular choice for first dives.

Mango Bay sits on the more sheltered side of Koh Tao, which makes it one of the calmest and most predictable dive sites on the island regardless of conditions elsewhere. The shallow, gently sloping reef is well suited to beginners, snorkelers, and anyone looking for a relaxed dive without strong current or challenging topography.
Coral coverage in the bay is healthy, with a good mix of hard and soft corals supporting a steady population of reef fish. The shallow depth keeps no-decompression limits generous, allowing for long, unhurried dives that suit both training purposes and casual fun diving.
The bay’s name comes from the surrounding landscape rather than anything underwater, but the calm, tropical feel of the site matches the setting. It’s a regular choice for Basic Diver and Open Water training, and it works equally well as a relaxed second dive on a day that includes a more demanding first site.
Oct–Nov: Northeast monsoon season. The site is still diveable but surface conditions can be rough and visibility reduced.
