The guide service is for climbers who already know what they’re doing — you can tie in, belay, and you’ve spent time on rock before. What Goodtime adds is local knowledge. Two hundred routes across granite sea cliffs, mountain top walls, lowland boulders, and jungle rock. If you don’t know Koh Tao’s climbing areas, a guide will get you to the right routes for your level and keep you off the ones that aren’t ready for you.
Sessions run for roughly four hours — morning or afternoon. The guide will assess where you’re at on the day and pick routes accordingly. If you want to work on something specific, say so before you head out. The group is capped at three per guide so the climbing stays personal rather than logistical.
If you’re travelling without gear, Goodtime rents everything you need at up to 50% off the standard rate. You don’t need to bring anything other than closed-toe shoes and water.
We offer two sessions of Guided Outdoor Rock Climbing tours each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each session is roughly 4 hours in length.

Depending on the type of climbing (sport, traditional, or top roping), additional gear like ropes, belay devices, quickdraws, and cams may be necessary. We provide all the equipment needed during our rock climbing courses (we love Petzl brand) and we have gear for rent when you’re going out for a guided outdoor rock climbing session.
Here on Koh Tao we use the French grading system. Our beautiful granite rocks on Koh Tao have climbs ranging from 4 to 7c perfect for every climbing adventure from beginner to advanced!
