DESCRIPTION:Every Saturday morning Goodtime organises a beach and reef cleanup on 
 Koh Tao — part of an ongoing conservation commitment that goes back to
  the early days of the company. Save Our Seas Saturday brings together
  divers\, snorkelers\, and anyone who wants to help into the water and
  onto the beach to remove debris from the sites around Mae Haad.\n\nTh
 e cleanup runs in the morning\, typically starting around 09:00 and fi
 nishing by midday. Equipment is provided — mesh bags\, gloves\, and gu
 idance from the Goodtime team on what to collect and how to do it with
 out disturbing the reef. No dive certification is required for the bea
 ch portion\, and certified divers are welcome to join the underwater c
 leanup team.\n\nAfter the cleanup\, participants are welcome back at t
 he beach club for food and drinks. It's a practical way to contribute 
 to the reef that makes diving on Koh Tao worth doing in the first plac
 e — and it happens every single week\, which means there's always an o
 pportunity to join in regardless of when you arrive on the island.

DESCRIPTION:Goodtime's quiz night is the best pub quiz on the island. Six people p
 er team\, four rounds of questions\, two wacky games between rounds wi
 th drinks up for grabs\, and a ฿100 entry fee that includes a free wel
 come shot. Signup is at 7:30pm and the quiz starts at 8:00pm sharp.\n\
 nThe prize pool is serious — ฿7\,000 cash for first place\, ฿3\,000 ca
 sh for second place\, and a ฿1\,500 bar tab for third. That's enough t
 o make it competitive\, and it is. The standard is higher than you'd e
 xpect for a beach bar quiz and that's most of the appeal. Turn up earl
 y if you want a good table — it fills up fast.\n\nThere's also 20% off
  food from 6:30 to 7:30pm if you want to eat before it starts\, which 
 is worth knowing. Teams are capped at six but you can show up solo and

DESCRIPTION:Songkran is Thailand's New Year water festival and Koh Tao takes it se
 riously. Goodtime takes it more seriously than most. Every year the te
 am assembles at the beach club from 10:00am — Goodtime bandanas handed
  out\, sausage sizzle on the grill\, cold drinks at the bar — before h
 eading out as a group to take on Mae Haad beach first and then push th
 rough to Sairee.\n\nIf you've never done Songkran on a Thai island\, t
 he short version is this: everyone is armed with water guns and bucket
 s\, nobody stays dry\, and the usual social rules of the island are te
 mporarily suspended in the best possible way. Going as part of the Goo
 dtime crew means you're not wandering into it alone — you're going in 
 as a team\, which is both more fun and considerably wetter.\n\nThe res
 taurant is closed for the day — this is not a day for sitting down. Th
 e bar is open from 10:00am until noon to get everyone sorted before th
 e chaos begins. Wear something you don't mind getting soaked\, bring a
  waterproof bag for your phone\, and get to the beach club early enoug
 h to grab a sausage and a bandana before the march begins.

 ghts on Mae Haad beach.\n\nThe kitchen runs its full menu on Wednesday
  evenings\, which means you can pair a glass of something decent with 
 the hanger steak or the Myanmar curry plate alongside live music on th
 e beachfront. The dinner menu starts at 17:00\, the wine specials and 
 the music run alongside it until close.\n\nIf you're on the island for
  a while and looking for a reason to sit down somewhere good midweek\,
  Wednesday at Goodtime is a reasonable answer. No dress code\, no rese
 rvation required\, no minimum spend.
